"To our loyal customers/friends, and future customers. For the sake of
principle, at this time, we refuse to pay the IPF (International Powerlifting
Federation) almost $4,000 in order to be on their “Approved” products list. This
means that if you purchase a high quality Bob’s Belt, you may or may not need to
get our belt approved by officials while at/upon arrival at the IPF event you
choose to compete in. We are not sure at this time whether there will be extra
fees involved in your own belt approval process, but we can definitely stand
behind the fact that our belt will meet all of the approved competition
specifications, i.e., thickness, width and all other matters of legality for the
competition, so with this said, your Bob’s Belt will meet all the specifications
and standards to enter the competition. There are still questions that need to
be answered, so we will update this statement accordingly. We at Bob’s Belts,
Bob and Julie Morris, and our family have had only one goal for the last 40
years: To handcraft the finest weightlifting belt in the world, and we have done
that. We are the creators of the 4” powerlifting belt of which so many have
tried and failed to duplicate. We are not a multimillion dollar company with a
board of directors and and gobs of money and employees, we are just a small
American family business, who has always taken passion in our product, and the
sport of powerlifting, and we have proven our good name time and time again.
With that said, we will not be bullied by this new IPF legislation, not without
a fight, we may come to some compromise in the future, but as of right now, NO
WAY…So we urge you to visit this link (see below), and sign this online petition
“IPF Exec - Reverse Decision to Add Belts to Approved Equipment List”. This
petition was created (ironically) by one of our customers as we discovered
later. We unknowingly came across this petition online during our own research
and we ourselves were glad to sign it…We also want to thank you all so much for
being so supportive over the years. If you don’t sign this petition for us, at
least sign it for the many other small businesses, who need a fair shake when it
comes to their own products, and being on some bogus list, as well as the
lifters who have belts (not on the list). Lets all work together to take care of
the little guy…Please write to the IPF and tell them this is plain wrong! Thank
